A new event for Y6 Leavers!

Y6-7 Transition Lessons

Move On Up, is our new Y6 leaver’s event. Moving on to something new can be scary for all of us. We don’t know what to expect next, and we don’t know whether we will enjoy the new experience. It’s just the same when moving up to your new secondary school, and this is where Insight strives to help. In order to prepare Year 6 pupils to move onto their new schools, we have written a transition session full of relevant videos, games and Bible stories to help the children to see that when the future seems scary, when they are afraid of what will come next, they can trust God at all times.

We try to host these sessions in our local partnering church buildings and invite more than one school; allowing the year 6 pupils an opportunity to mix with other pupils from different schools. This is one of the many ways that Insight seeks to support students in the borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames whilst also linking schools to their local churches. We seek to help schools and churches to make these connections in order to provide a high-quality experience and to help present the curriculum to students in a more engaging and exciting way.

If you would like to run this event in your school, then you can download the resources from the TES website here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12540045

If you would like to watch our new film: Jesus Walks on the Water, then you can do so here or on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRUMCboYfqw&t=2s

Download a Risk Assessment here if Insight are coming to deliver this session in your school this year.

Year 6 leavers often ask some big questions about moving up to secondary school.

To hear some of our teachers give their answers to these questions, see some of the videos below.
