Christmas Escape Room
Welcome to the Insight Christmas Escape Room.
This fun, interactive activity is a great way to engage with the Christmas story and is completely free and entirely online, so you can host it at school, at church, or even at home.
If you are in school, there are printable, colour activity sheets to download both on this page and on every individual page of the web site. You may wish to have some of these ready for your teams. This activity will work really well in groups of 5 or 6. Each group will need access to a computer or tablet with sound and the Insight web site to complete the 7 tasks. There will be embedded YouTube videos, sound files and graphics to watch and puzzles to solve along the way.
At the end of each round is a password or code to discover. This password will unlock the next round and take you to the next part of the story. Complete all 7 of the short activities to finish. If you run out of time, you can simply return to the same web page at a later stage to finish off. Write down the name of the web page address if you’d like to go straight there for next time.
To add an element of competition, why not try to solve all 7 of the puzzles in the fastest time? We’re not timing you but if you’d like to know how well you’ve done, you can use a watch, clock or timer app. If you have a number of teams playing, let us know who the winners are and how fast you’ve done it on Twitter @insightkingston.
This activity has been designed mainly for Key Stage 3 or 4, that is 11-16s. Like most escape rooms, it can be quite cryptic and there are lots of hidden clues to look out for. But we think, with enough minds on the job it could also be played in Y6 or even as a bit of fun for grown ups. Teachers may wish to try and complete it themselves first before hosting it for others. If you get really stuck, you can email us and we can either send you some clues or the answers.
